They Laugh.

An... awkward poem. It is symbolizing mankind, and the chaos we wreck. And when someone tries to stand against that chaos, they are eventually pressured and pushed into simply believing it normal day events that are not to be concerned over.

I searched the world for my dream;
Discovering it made it die.
They laughed.
I climbed the highest mountain
And saw nothing but fog.
They laughed.
I walked the deserts to see the pyramids
And was blinded by the sand.
They laughed.
I listened to the cry of the baby whose mother was lost,
Who had no family left to care.
They laughed.
I heard the destruction of cities and lives,
As I stood in the midst of the war.
They laughed.
I tasted the blood and death in the air
And I wasn't able to save the children.
They laughed.
I cried over the lost generations.
They laughed.
I screamed at the ignorance.
They laughed.
I went back to my land to tell of the world's cruelty.
They laughed.
And I laughed with them.

Ahh i like this poem

It really captures alot

And the structure is good, the way you keep the words "They laughed" I think really emphasizes the actions.

=]

Like it

I liked it, it was a bit confusing... i didnt eally understand it untilli read your little note at the top. It

says on here that before you put poems up you souldnt have to explain it, or else it is not a poem.

The poem should explain everything and i think it did, it was a great poem but i dont think it needed

your note at the top, it was beautiful as it was :D

This was very good. I couldn't say that it was "awkward". This is a poem written with feeling and clarity. Sometimes I thought the meter was broken up by the "They laughed" phrase, but other than that, I really liked it, and what it stood for. I would like to read more of this stuff. Good work!
